In 2009 Yours Truly was asked to craft a book cover for Labyrint, a new Copenhagen-based publishing company translating French crime novels into Danish. I was sent to Marseille to walk the path of Fabio Montale and photograph the guts of Marseille’s side in Jean-Claude Izzo’s Total Kheops. Time and space

Grainy Points of View This series shows, with a somehow grainy aesthetic, links between space and time, time and space, the importance of geometry, curves, lines, and the point of view. I played a game with a camera that take half-frame pictures, I shot 2 times to get a full frame picture. The result is that they seem broken, sometimes you can feel vertigo, it’s unusual for our eyes. The brain looks for the line of horizon at all time, tries to put some logic into what it sees, tries to recreate a normal picture which is not there… Where’s…

Shanghai Expired

  The real Shanghai skyline is at street level. Unfortunately, the most interesting neighborhoods are being liquidated. The city thrived in transformation, but the latest changes will erase everything that was uniquely Shanghai. I’m documenting the city’s ‘residue’ using archaic tools and film media that is also dying gracefully.
