Who would have thought, in 2012, when we released issue number 1 of Photo Analogies that our offspring (it is, isn’t it?) would take off in such a manner. Some 7 years later, issue number 4 is coming out. It is both very different from the first issue and quite similar in spirit. Like a prodigal little brother.

This fourth issue has quite exceptional content, with a large proportion of great names in photography. The focus is also, as usual, on photographers who deserve to be discovered but with a lesser-known name. In this respect, we are proud to be able to share all this work with our readers once again. We thank also all these passionate people who have trusted us with their work.

While professional photography is undergoing something of a crisis, more than ever film photography is alive and well. Or at least it stubbornly refuses to give in and disappear. One sees it with dedicated publications, endless blogs, dedicated festivals, etc. More than ever, it lives within a niche. However, there’s nothing to fuss about. We at BOP continue to stay the course. You can do the same, i.e. always have your camera with you and, of course, shoot film! I was once told, as I was going out to the baker at the end of the street, “You’re not taking your camera? What if Godzilla attacks the city?” Indeed…
