Stephane Charpentier is the new BOP guest

When looking at Stephane’s pictures, even at the very first picture you watch, you can see that there’s a complete story inside them. And when I say you watch the pictures, I mean it. It is far from looking at simple images. Quickly, you fall into this strange world filled with black, more than white, blur, more than clearness. You can even hear the screaming in some images whereas after that another image seems to bring some kind of hope. The text “escorting” these photos is clearly indicating what Stephane’s pictures are looking for, searching for and in the end…

BOP collective exhibition for the Copenhagen Photo Festival 2011 – “BOP … in search of humanistic photography”

With this exhibition BOP brings a variety of points of view on the world. To do so we present eight coherent sets of black and white pictures with a transversal way of showing the world as we live in or as we live it. It can be an odyssey in which some BOP member embarks within the place he lives in, as in Barthélémy Longueville’s recollection of a night trip in the streets of old Shanghaï, China, or as in Chris Huby’s hunt for people in front of their environment all over the world, a metaphoric way of picturing solitude….

New guest exhibition: “In the heat of the night” by Christophe Cantoni

Today, BOP is proud to welcome Christophe’s guest exhibition: “In the heat of the night.” In his series you’ll feel the rush of the photo-reporter, his short breaths and his admiration for fire-fighters. While many of us would have been stuck with fire aesthetics, Christophe strives to reveal the human dimension of the fight and its after-effects. Hold your breath, feel the heat and enjoy!
